Nashville 200 rain delay July 14 2007

The two of us got to the racetrack at around 1 pm when they opened the pits/garage area......It was hot and muggy....Dario was there signing autos , like he always does, and I snapped quite a few pics of him..........He thanked me when I told him good job at Indy.......Nice guy......



Phillip was standing in Marcos garage stall when I snapped this photo....Yes, as you can see, he had just bought a Motorola #7 Danica hat.....



I just had to go to Sam's garage stall, and when I saw these skins, they were so pretty.....These belong to Sam's #6 car.........Helio's skins were right close by also........


At 6pm the cars were brought out onto the pit lanes for pre race ceremonies....At this time, as the National Anthem was being played, the skies fell out and it began to pour.......


We took shelter under the stairwell......As you can see here it got pretty wet......Thank God for no lightning!!!!!!!!!!!!!



Below us is where all the mass of crowd were.........Under the stadium bleachers.....



After a two hour rain delay the track was almost dry again when it started to pour once more.........We headed out to the car and waited.........The race was called off and rescheduled for Sunday at noon...............


Here I am banging out this post at 11:30 am Sunday morn..yes you guessed right........With a high of 89* forecast with a feels like temp of 97* and a 25% chance of rain forecast for this noon, I am staying in and watching it live from the comfort of my easy chair,,,,,with a cold Pepsi................LIFE IS GOOD.....
