Back in the Game

It’s been fifteen years since I was a fan
So hard to keep up from far off lands
But now I am back, and I must say
I love to sit back and watch them play
They have been my team since I was a child
Catching up now seems quite wild
Nowadays, I have my own son
We cheer together that our game will be won
Watching him root so excited and loud
Makes me as his father oh so proud
I can’t forget the other two, they jumped aboard
My girls watch the games when not so bored
Last but not least I must mention my wife
Although, she thinks baseball is running my life
No matter what is said they all want more
Especially when we come out with a winning score
I truly enjoy watching my Chicago Cubs
My only wish is that I could do it from the pubs
Even though it has been quite awhile
Watching every game always brings a huge smile.....
