Having fun at the track...NSS...2008

Got to the track here in Nashville early Friday morn, spent the hot day at the campground setting up, and settling down for a race weekend................Around 3 pm I walked over to the track and watched INDY LIGHTS and IRL qualifications.............Helio bumped Danica off the pole to the delight and dismay of many in the crowd.............................I was cheerin' for Helio................haaa....

This was what the skies looked like all day Friday and Saturday..........Threatening but no rain until Saturday eve...............

Rain delays suck

Look who shows up after the first rain delay..................Phillip...........nice hat buddy..........

The race was red flagged (stopped) because of rain with something like 22 laps to finish........Due to a pit stop by TK, he lost the race to Scott Dixon......................This was Dixie's third win in a row here..................CONGRATS Scott.................

There have been lots of speculation going on here lately about this track not being involved in future IRL races here in Nashville.............

4.....Concrete track............the only one.....Good testing for FIRESTONE tires............
5....If they need more attendance here,,,,,,Dover Racing (owners) should put in bigger grandstands..........................
6....IF they are to reduce numbers of ovals or tracks, IRL should look at smaller tracks first.........I really do not care IF they are brand new.........................Or on the drawing board.........
7....Nashville Superspeedway gave a race to the IRL in 2000 when the IRL was hurting and looking for a revenue source.................Firestone, Dover, Nashville and the surrounding communities supported the IRL from day one, when asked by the IRL IF they could race here...........
8...IF the IRL wants bigger purses for the race here, you know FIRESTONES number.........

10...Sounds a lot to me like its just the greed of money..............This IS NASCAR territory and IF the IRL turns its back on Nashville now, it will not be welcomed back.........The IRL fans here are loyal to the league and travel to other tracks also...............That will also stop..............
